Proudly announcing the release of the the long awaited - Southern Courage Russian Imperial Stout. A collaboration between Bandicoot Brewery and Jesse from Hop Dealz Australia - 2 years in the making and aged 6 months in Lark American oak whisky barrels.

The first batch of the beer spent six months in Lark American oak whisky barrels before being blended with a fresh, unoaked batch. And the result of this collaboration with Jesse from Hopdealz Australia has been worth the effort. The whisky character is most noticeable on the nose – juicy and enticing – and the blending and ageing has been judged to the point that the beer – rich, thick, dark and creamy – is luscious without any boozy heat to distract from the experience.
Rich malty red beer with bursts of citrus and passionfruit aromas, finishing with a gentle resinous character. This beer was a Silver Medal winner in 2016 and a Bronze Medal winner at the Australian and International Beer Awards 2015.
Rich brown in colour with a delicate toffee aroma. The flavour consists of biscuit along with fruity characteristics derived from traditional English ale yeasts. This beer is super smooth with an easy going hop temperament and can be enjoyed on any occasion. This was a Bronze medal winner at the 2016 Australian and international beer awards.
An all Australian beer brewed with all Australian malt and hops, this beer is super refreshing with a traditional malt base and unique passionfruit hop flavour and aroma.
This beer is always very popular at beer events as has proven to be a great gateway beer. It consists of a smooth malt character that’s been balanced with delicate German noble hops.
Belgian phenolic, spices and banana aromas. The flavour is initially sweet and continues the subtle banana along with hints of cloves and pepper, finishing smooth and dry. This was a Bronze medal winner at the 2016 Australian and international beer awards.
Extremely smooth in flavour, portraying rich malty flavours with hints Portello, coffee and dark chocolate.
Rich smooth dark malty flavours upfront followed by a hoppy resinous finish.
A smooth porter brewed with a unique blend of locally roasted coffee beans from Echuca Coffee Roasters. This beer is rich in smooth coffee and dark chocolate flavours and aromas.
This scotch ale has been aging in local St Anne’s winery Shiraz barrels. Traditional scotch ale character that blended perfectly with the rich dark fruit flavours of the Shiraz and hints of oak. Reminiscent of Christmas pudding.
At Bandicoot we believe beer is for everyone, and we work hard to craft a beer to suit each individual palate, therefore we produce a wide variety of beers. Currently we open our bar in the brewery every Thursday until 10pm. At Bandicoot it’s not just about drinking delicious award winning beers; it’s also about beer education and enjoying the brewery view, where our great beers are made. Because at Bandicoot the people that serve the beer, brew the beer. Every day is a meet the brewer day and questions about beer are always encouraged.
Beer quality is paramount at Bandicoot. We always strive for perfection and our beers have won numerous awards in the Australian and International Beer Awards in both 2015 and 2016.
As part of showcasing the wide range of beers we also believe in showcasing local ingredients too. Our Aussie Summer Ale was purposely designed to showcase Australian ingredients and uses only Victorian grown Malt and Hops. Our Insomniac Coffee Porter was brewed using a unique blend of Coffee that was roasted in our home town, Echuca.
Currently we also have another barrel aged beer, a Scotch Ale that is aging in local St Anne’s winery Shiraz barrels which will have flavours reminiscent of Christmas pudding.
